Update-1/29/10: I'm going to start putting together a monthly newsletter. If you'd like to receive it, please email me at CFLPitBullRescue@aol.com and put Newsletter in the subject line. Also, if you are in need of any pet beds, pillows, and all natural soap and soy candles, please visit our Bully Boutique! The proceeds all go to our land fund. http://www.bullyboutique.weebly.com/
Update- 1/26/10: I've found a few different pieces of property that would make a wonderful home for CFPBR. It's just the towering task of raising funds before someone else swoops in and purchases the land. After plugging in numbers it looks like I need 8,700 people to donate $15 each in order to make the purchase. Land is the dream...the goal we have to enable us to actually be able to take in pit bulls instead of relying on fosters or the help of other rescues. The over population of the breed is booming and it's only January. If you are as passionate about the breed as we are, please feel free to pass along the cyber donation jar! Donations can be mailed to us at PO Box 322 Clarcona, FL 32710 or via PAYPAL at CFLPitBullRescue@aol.com
*Update- 1/26/10: There is still time to take advantage of Orange County Animal Service's special adoption rate. For the month of January, OCAS is offering a lowered adoption fee of just $20.11! Please head down and check out all the four legged friends just waiting to go home with you!

***Central Florida Pit Bull Rescue is currently seeking land to build a facility on. A state of the art facility that will be more home like then kennel. Our intake will be mostly seniors of the breed and those with physical disabilities. Each pooch wiill have his or her own paw-partment! This is where fellow bully lovers can help. If you have land that you can donate or a monetary donation that you can contribute we would be so appreciative. Donations information can be found at the bottom of this page. ***
We'd like to take a moment to tell you a little about the rescue. We are a family team! We are members of the SPCA of Central Florida, memebers of The Humane Society of America and attend Pit Bull Education courses were we've served as ambassador. We also assist other rescues and facilities in promoting their pits that need a good home.
Pit Bulls do face breed racism. It's a sad fact. Some people have a closed mind and can't be reached. Other simply have the wrong perception of the breed and those minds we can change! A well behaved Pit Bull walking quietly on a leash or playing gently with a child can send a powerful message to people. The media seems to focus on the negative and not the positive. Have Pit Bulls attacked people? Yes. But so have many other breeds that aren't considered dangerous, so those cases don't get the media attention. I believe there are no bad dogs, just bad owners. Personally, I would like to see more attention put on the how people abuse the breed by forcing them to fight. Shed some light on the cruelty that these dogs have to endure for the entertainment of some disturbed people. With that being said, there are cases were the cruelty has gone on too long or to much trauma as been endured and those dogs can't adjust back to normal life. In situations like that, everyone involved has to look at the big picture and make the decision on what course of action to take.
The bullies don't have a voice, but we do. We will sing their praise and seek to end the racism that haunts the breed.
Please help with the problems this wonderful breed faces. Spay and/or neuter your pets. Just because a dog is beautiful, doesn't mean it should have puppies. Just take a walk through a local shelter to see the amount of dogs that have to call it home. Report animal cruelty to the authorities and turn in those who participate or promote dog fighting. There are those who see it as a sport but it's a heinous crime that sees the loser killed or tortured due to the lost it cost their owner.
We currently don't have any Pit Bulls ready for adoption but please check out our adoption page to view some Pits that are currently living in other shelters.
If you would like to help, please consider making a donation. By simply clicking on the DONATE button, you'll be directed to Paypal to finish the transaction.
